Helvetas Pakistan - Skills for Decent Employment
Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation is a Swiss foundation for development and international cooperation. We work with multiple partners including the Government, NGOs, community organizations and the private sector. Helvetas has institutional experience in Natural Resource Management, Livelihood and Skill Development, Rural Economy, Nutrition Sensitive approach and related practices, Climate Change, and resilience building. In collaboration with Swiss Solidarity, Helvetas is implementing a project on Skill For Decent Employment for working age children in District Peshawar.
The overall goal of the project is paving the way of Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the working age children engaged in informal economy in Peshawar.
Cultural Heritage Workshop Funded by UNESCO
The central objective of the proposed intervention is to raise awareness among local communities, especially youth, about the value of intangible cultural heritage and the role they can plan in safeguarding it. Community-based inventorying is a key method to collect reliable data, which can not only build provincial and national databases on cultural heritage, but also inform policy decisions.
The project intends to achieve this through a community-based inventorying workshop in Peshawar for various stakeholders.
Skill Development Project Funded by IRC
International Rescue Committee is implementing a five-year WASH project “LIFE” in Buner, Swat and Peshawar districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. It has four major objectives. One of the objectives of LIFE project is to improve the awareness and decision making of vulnerable groups around WASH. Vocational skill development is one of the identified mechanisms for achievement of this objective. The LIFE project outcome 3 is exclusively designed for empowering marginalized groups by engaging them in income-generating activities. Based on the evidence that the women with financial sovereignty have increased mobility and are actively involved in decision making. As per the project document, 109 vulnerable persons will be trained on vocational skills in Peshawar, and Buner district.
Skill Development Training - ACTED Pakistan
A Technical and Vocational Training program has been developed to tackle the internal displacement crisis in Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.
Funded by ACTED Pakistan, the program aims to equip individuals affected with practical skills for sustainable livelihoods. The program aims to empower the displaced population, enhance their employability, and self-sufficiency.
It also focuses on building long-term resilience and fostering socio-economic stability in the aftermath of the crisis.
